**Correction: The Tampa Bay action will be this Wedneday, April 19th at 7 PM.
Today, over a dozen students from The University of South Florida, The University of Tampa, and Eckerd College launched a five-day fast in support of Ohio State Student/Farmworker Alliance’s “Boot the Braids” campaign, pressuring the OSU administration to end their lease with the fast-food giant until Wendy’s joins the Fair Food Program. On Wednesday at 7pm, halfway through the five-day rolling fast, join student fasters from the three universities, farmworkers and Tampa Bay-area allies for a spirited protest!
WHERE: Wendy’s at 1615 W Kennedy Blvd, Tampa, FL*
WHEN: Wednesday, April 19 at 7:00pm
*Please do not park in the Wendy’s parking lot
Tampa Bay students organized the fast as part of a wave of nationwide rolling solidarity fasts, called by OSU SFA at the end of last month’s week-long fast by 19 OSU students and alumni to demand that OSU administration cut the contract with Wendy’s.
From Tampa Bay schools to OSU, students are sending a clear message to Wendy’s that the student-led campaigns to Boot the Braids will continue to swiftly grow across the country until Wendy’s respects farmworkers’ human rights!
