Al Jazeera coverage of events in Egypt

If you’re following events in Egypt and would like to hear very good, informed coverage, the Al Jazeera network is highly recommend. Cable companies don’t carry it, but you can watch their broadcast, live, for free, on your computer at THIS LINK. The coverage is much more detailed and thoughtful than what is typically found on US cable news networks.

Also, it’s very interesting to watch the tweets from Egyptians, themselves, on the ground where events are unfolding. They are in English for the most part. Just go to Google’s realtime coverage of #egypt. The updates will automatically appear as people on the other side of the planet type them into their phones.

Choir rehearsals start again!

don't forget Choir rehearsals start again this coming Sunday, January 9th, at 9:15am-10am.

Starting this Sunday, we’re going to sing in church every Sunday that I’m there.

At this Sunday’s rehearsal I will collect all the old music and hand out the new music for the pre-Lenten season.
In church, this coming Sunday, we will sing “Have This Love” which we’ve rehearsed before but never had a chance to sing in church.

I’m looking forward to choir starting again.

Newcomers are welcome!!!

Displaying Peace

I happened to be at church today and saw the Christmas decorations–they’re really nice. I especially liked the display along the window which I understand is called Displaying Peace. Rev. Wells and the the Advent committee will have more to tell about that, but for now, I just wanted to give everyone a visual sneak preview via a YouTube video. (The sound track is one of my old organ arrangements.) The following link will take you to YouTube to see the video.
